What could Clear Solutions have done better?

Not sure anything could have been. Obviously, there is no such thing as perfection but, this was as near as it possibly could have been.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

New company, looking for a change.

We are a relatively new company and a little disorganised Stephen (and his team) were totally professional and patient with us. This on proving an excellent product at the end is why I'm writing this recommendation. That sort of service needs acknowledging.

I cannot identify anything that could’ve been improved. Stephen’s professionalism and diligence has been remarkable. He has displayed vigilance, versatility and flexibility often in response to urgent requests on my part.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I’ve always earned a considerable income but never acquired wealth. A chance meeting with a financial advisor opened a new world to me. Initially my first financial advisor seemed to be very successful, introducing me to the concept of EIS but in the long run his investment advice was far too risky and not remotely diverse. Ironically through my initial financial advisor, I met Stephen Jones and my financial circumstances changed dramatically for the better when I switched to Stephen.

How has Stephen Jones helped you?

He has assessed my appetite for risk and scientifically evaluated my financial and investment profile. In addition, he has carefully analysed my expectations/hopes for the immediate future in this turbulent world, not to mention retirement planning. He has widened my investment profile and overall, in contrast to the first financial advisor, he has made a profound difference to my financial health and well-being.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

As per my earlier comments, I could not have anticipated any better an outcome than Stephen has achieved. He has been absolutely outstanding.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had a very hap hazard approach to my financial affairs in my younger years and had allowed the years to creep by whilst keeping my head in the sands of youth. I had lost track of investments that I had made over time. I also had not paid much attention to my pension requirements. I needed inheritance planning, which I had not really given much thought to. I needed someone to guide me in my future affairs and help me achieve a sound financial footing and greater understanding of my current wealth and my options going forward.

How has Stephen Jones helped you?

Stephen has organised me. He has made me focus on what I would like to achieve financially, my goals and financial aspirations for the future. He has created a platform where I can see my current position easily with a few clicks. He managed to track old investments and get current valuations. He has advised me extensively and reorganised my Pension and found ways for me to increase my contributions that I was unaware of. We have discussed inheritance planning at length and we continue to work on this together as the IHT landscape changes. Stephen is dogged about keeping me up to date and insists on regular face to face meetings.

Yes, I am more confident in my financial affairs and Stephen has made me more proactive.

We cannot fault their work and advice in any way. They have all been incredible. Many thanks for all of their hard work and advice over the years.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My wife and I were the ages of 32 and 33 and we hadn't got any pension provisions nor had we planned for any inheritance planning or insurances relating to health or death.

How has Stephen Jones helped you?

Stephen has given us some amazing advice over the last 5+ years and has helped us get pension plans set up, make provisions for our old age and also helped guide us to make some incredible investments. His team are incredible within their roles and have helped us with health insurance plans along with setting up pensions for our children. The team provided us with an incredible wealth projection forecast for our investments and planning. The pension contributions have also been a huge benefit with our corporation tax bill.

100%. The advice and planning Stephen and his team have provided has already been a massive benefit to us.

I could not have asked more from what was an initial, free consultation. When I am ready in a few years’ time, I will use Stephen again to draw up more specific financial planning goals.

I am self-employed and have a reasonable sized pension. I was exploring options for flexible drawdown to supplement my income in case my earnings fell.

The breadth and depth of Stephen’s knowledge was very evident and he could answer my very specific questions clearly. He also gave me additional advice, which I will certainly take on board.

I was introduced to Stephen over 10 years ago now and have not looked back since. We check in regularly and since I needed specific advice on restructuring my business, our relationship has spread across several areas he specialises in.

I met Stephen whilst undertaking some work on a mutual client. I wasn't looking for an adviser as such, but after seeing how Stephen helped the client, I engaged him to assist myself. I've met many financial advisers through my work and never met one I felt could offer me the levels of expertise that Stephen offers.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Due to career moves and the usual time pressures, which limited reviewing or researching investment choices, I felt the time was right to gain professional advice/guidance on the pensions accrued from different companies, plus the allocation of my investments/assets.

How has Stephen Jones helped you?

At our first meeting, Stephen took the time to listen and asked questions as to what were my financial objectives and, importantly, what I wanted to achieve from financial advice. From this initial meeting, Stephen and his team conducted a very detailed financial review, which highlighted positives, questions and potential challenges. Importantly, throughout the whole process, Stephen was very objective, asked the hard questions, whilst at the same time being supportive. I now have in place a very clear financial and retirement plan with choices.

At the very start of my working career, I received financial advice, which on review led me to be wary of offers/advice going forward. On meeting Stephen, it was refreshing to meet another professional who was straightforward, honest, challenging and, importantly, explained things in a way you could understand. So yes, I have achieved the outcome I was hoping for.

When I talk to Stephen, I get a rundown of the courses of action available to me in the given circumstances. Other people, whether financial advisers or not, have tended to give a list of things that shouldn't, couldn't or hadn't ought to be done, rather than advice on what can or could be done.
